This long journey must have faced a lot of challenges in the past. What do you think are the challenges that still plague the retail sector today?
The organized retail sector in India has been facing a lot of issues and challenges which are providing to be a hurdle for its fast paced growth. Even though the organized retail sector is at a very nascent stage in India, It provides ample opportunities for retailers. The mitigation of a few challenges will help the sector attain higher economies scale and growth. Some challenge that still bog us down today are global economic slowdown, competition from the unorganized sector, the fact that the retail sector has no recognition as an industry, high real estate costs, supply chain inefficiencies and challenges with respect to human resources.
What according to you is the future of the retail sector in India?
The Indian retail sector has come off age and undergone major transformation over the last decade with a noticeable shift towards organized retailing. In fact A T Kearney, a US based global management consulting firm has ranked India as the fourth most attractive nation for retail investment among 30 flourishing markets.
Today major domestic players have stepped into the retail arena with long term, ambitious plans to expand their business across verticals, cities and formats. The future is definitely bright!

So much is packed in one chimney, yet it makes your kitchen visually appealing! They are available in black, white tempered glass and stainless steel finish and come in four categories – Essential, Premier, collection and island. With 54 models to choose from it suits different packet sizes too.
Where do you see yourself and the business in 10 years from today?
Consumer appliances majors are eyeing Indian Kitchens for the next phase of growth. A consistent trend in high growth, over the past few years is prompting companies to focus on premium kitchen appliances. Changing lifestyles, from joint families residing in the same house to nuclear families has made the kitchen a part of the drawing room now. Thus, demand for well-furnished kitchens is also growing.
According to industry estimates Kaff Inspiring Chefs, the segment is expected to grow at 15-20 percent per annum for the next few years. In Fact the Indian market today is a replica of what the Chinese market was 10 years ago and the premium kitchen appliances market in china has grown 10 fold since 2010. We are also forward to a similar exponential growth in our business.
