As per Indian Cooking Style KAFF promotes the Aluminum Mesh Filter instead of Baffle Filter, the reason behind this is Aluminum Mesh Filters has 5 layers in which when a Chimney sucks the smoke the oil get collected in the filter itself and smoke goes out with a blower. After a certain time period Aluminum Mesh Filter can be easily cleaned at home. However, in case of Baffle Filter they are designed in such a way where the oil get bypassed from filter and reach to the blower assembly along with the smoke, and over a period of time puts load on the motor which leads to choking of motor and with heavy load on motor, blowers may get cracked.

Washing of Aluminum Mesh Filter is really very easy, just take the filter out from the chimney, scrub on both the sides with some soft brush or sponge and put it in a luke warm water with some detergent and leave it for 5 to 10 minutes after that take it out, rinse them and again put it back. Whereas, in case of Baffle Filter if you need to clean it, one has to unscrew the Baffle Filters and then clean them, which is actually a difficult task for a lady working in the kitchen.

Apart from the working of filters, the main feature to select any chimney is the suction power. Higher the suction, better is the suction efficiency. This is the simple rule which one need to consider while finalizing any chimney.
